Terrance Cobb

Assistant Band Director & Color Guard Instructor

Mr. Terrance A. Cobb is in his 8th year as the Assistant Band Director at Homewood Middle School and Homewood High School. Mr. Cobb’s teaches the Homewood Middle School Concert Band and the HMS Jazz Band. At the high school, he also teaches the 7th period Concert Band, assists with the Chamber Winds, Honors Band, and the Homewood High School Patriot Marching Band.

In addition to his responsibilities as assistant band director, Mr. Cobb also serves as the instructor for the Homewood High School Patriot Color Guard.  As Patriot Guard Instructor, Mr. Cobb is responsible for all choreography and is the visual designer for the Homewood Patriot Marching Band.  He is in high demand as a clinician and adjudicator throughout the southeast.  His color guards have consistently received superior ratings, and have won Best in Class awards throughout the south.

 

Mr. Cobb is a graduate of Troy University where he received a Bachelor’s of Music Education. While attending Troy University, Mr. Cobb performed with such ensembles at the Troy University Sound of the South Marching Band, the Troy Symphony Band. Although tuba was his principle instrument, Mr. Cobb also served as a vocalist for the university in its choral department; singing in such ensembles at the Troy University Chamber Choir, Gospel Choir, Collegiate Singers, and Opera Ensemble. He continues to perform with such groups as the Alabama Winds playing tuba, and the Birmingham Chamber Chorus singing tenor.

Originally from Fitzgerald Ga., Mr. Cobb is a graduate of Fitzgerald High School. He later moved to Orlando Fl. before moving to his current residence in Homewood Al.

Professional memberships includes Alabama Bandmasters Association, National Bandmasters Association, MENC, Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Service Fraternity, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity.
