We Need Your Help
Operating the largest high school band in the state is a huge task. Uniforms need to be maintained, equipment needs to be moved and concession stands need to be operated. It is a team effort comprised of parents, grandparents and many others who are willing to commit their time to help our students. Quite literally, the Homewood High School Band can't operate without the the hundreds of volunteers who come together to help give our students a world-class music experience.
VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME
If you have a student in the band, we encourage you to get involved. There are dozens of ways you can volunteer your time to help our students and school maintain our status as one of the most high recognized high school bands in the world. Whatever your interest and abilities, there is a place for you to serve. The best way to get involved is to watch your in-box for emails announcing work days and other volunteer opportunities.
One of our biggest fundraisers is operating the concession stands at football games. To work in the concession stands, you must hold a valid food handler's card from the Jefferson County Health Department. The cards are good for two years. Each year, the band provides a no-cost, brief, training class for your convenience. You may elect to take the class online directly from the JEFCO Health Department for a modest cost. Click here for more information at the JEFCO Health Department website.
CORPORATE AND BUSINESS SPONSORSHIPS
The Homewood Band actively seeks local businesses and individuals to sponsor and underwrite our efforts. With over one-third of students participating in the band, we are by far the largest activity at Homewood High School. Sponsoring the band is a tremendous way to impact the student experience at Homewood and give back to the community. Contributors are recognized through announcements and signage at band events throughout the year, and here on the website.
